Design Of EtherCAT Slave Device

As the standard of fieldbus is not unified, communication between different fieldbus protocols is difficult. The standard of Ethernet technology is unified, and the interconnection between the networks is easy and the cost of networking is low. So importing Ethernet technology into the field of industrial control and then integrating the Ethernet and fieldbus technology is the new trend of industrial network technology development. Due to its use of CSMA / CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection) mechanism, the traditional Ethernet can not satisfy the requirements of industrial field in terms of certainty and real-time. Many companies and organizations have put forward their own industrial Ethernet network and given the real-time technology solutions. However, Ethernet technology is currently not applied in large-scale, so the research of industrial Ethernet technology and development of related products in large number is significant.Due to its high real-time, flexible topology, simple system configuration and low develop cost characteristics, EtherCAT industry Ethernet presented by beckoff is concerned by more and more manufacturers. Therefore, this paper researches on EtherCAT industrial Ethernet and accomplishes the design and implementation of the high-level intelligence EtherCAT slave based on comX.The embedded high-level intelligence slave hardware design based on ARM and Linux operation is given and the various parts of the circuit hardware are introduced separately, including memory interface, Ethernet interface, serial port and LCD interface, comX protocol module interface and etc. Furthermore, to satisfy with the software functional requirements, the design implements Linux transplanting on the hardware circuit board, finally completes the user application program based on the comX module drive.
