As the core of the open CNC system, a motion controller has the very important positionin the numerical control system and gets more and more attention. With the rapiddevelopment of microelectronics, automatic control, sensor and microcomputer application,a digital control system using the general computer, FPGA, microprocessor, DSP controllerand other modern means obtains fast development. At present, the motion controller based onDSP technology implementation provides a new direction for the development of the openCNC system.Firstly, analysis the development and the present situation of the numerical controlsystem, discuss the status of the controller in the numerical control system and the currentresearch status of motion controller.Secondly, put forward the hardware design of the motion controller which uses DSP andFPGA. The DSP is the core processor of the motion controller. It can facilitate the complexcontrol algorithm easily and real-time and improve stability and reliability of the system, atthe same time, a large number of peripheral interface circuit and logic control functionintegration FPGA, improve the stability and reliability of the system.Thirdly, discuss the control system software and its development environment and in thispaper. In the article introduce the main program and the interrupt service program. Theinterpolation algorithm and PID control algorithm are explained in detail.Finally, debug the hardware and the software of the controller and verify the rationalityand effectiveness of the motion controller.
