Food safety is a public health issue related to human health, In recent years, food safety incidents occur frequently, threatening the health of the public, and even affect the stable development of society and economy. With the popularity of the internet, the internet media also play a huge role in food safety incidents as an important information transmission channels. The network public opinion began to demonstrate its unparalleled strength and influence of the developments.By the network public opinion analysis of2011typical food safety incidents-Shuanghui clenbuterol incident, tinted steamed buns incident and Taiwan plasticizer incident, the impact of monitoring and guidance of network public opinion on food safety incidents was studied, and the network public opinion has become an important reference for government decision-making. However, the concepts and methods of the government’s public governance still lags behind the requirements of the internet age, and lacks of monitoring and guidance of network public opinion caused by food safety incidents.In order to deal with the government’s lack of response to network public opinion in the food safety incident, a series of recommendations have been proposed: strengthen the interaction between network public opinion and traditional media public opinion, improve the ability of deal with public opinion, strengthen the technical monitoring of network public opinion, enhanced the legal supervision of the network environment. The basis for the government to monitor and guide public opinion on the network was provided, and government can seize the initiative to deal with food safety incidents, and network public opinion can be guided to the positive development effectively.
