With the popularization of computer applications, network penetrates into every aspects of people’s life. During the process of data processing or transmission, not only timeliness has to be taken into account, but also the security. Especially in image processing, it is hoped that some sort of encryption algorithm can be used to encrypt the image information, and the higher of the algorithm security, and the stronger of the image information confidentiality.Based on the analysis and discussion of data encryption technology and chaos theory model, this thesis applies the characteristics of Logistic chaotic mapping to encrypt the original image into the encrypted image firstly and makes the image to reach the chaotic state by the control algorithm parameters; Secondly, this thesis studies the characteristics of the space-domain and frequency-domain encryption algorithm of Generalized-Cat-Mapping, and analyzes control parameters and transform nature of the correlation algorithm. Another major task of the thesis is to study scrambling technology application in image encryption based on the XOR image pixel position transformation and pixel gray-scale transformation, respectively, to improve the traditional way of using a single encryption method for image encryption in the past and to enhance the corresponding method. The algorithms and design processes are presented in this thesis, with algorithm flow chart MATLAB code. The encryption effects are verified by experiments.
