The highway tunnel is an important road infrastructure. Within such a narrow andclosed space, vehicle collision, explosion, fire and other catastrophic incidents willresult in heavy casualties and property losses. So, we need a distributed road tunnel firealarm monitoring system to make sure that the fire will be extinguished in the earlyformation. Fire monitoring system must have the characteristics of advancement,reliability, stability, high sensitivity and low false alarm rate, and it can monitor the firecondition of tunnel space in real-time and automatically.The fiber optic sensor has simple structure, small size, light weight, anti-jamming,corrosion-resistant and high sensitivity, and it also has the unique advantages of easyerection and maintenance. With the distributed fiber Bragg grating sensor technologymatures, long distance, multi-point, high-precision fire monitoring system can makemore accurate and reliable fire alarm. This paper studies road tunnel fire alarmmonitoring system based on FBG in detail. First it analyses in detail the status of thehighway tunnel fire monitoring technology, and summarizes the advantages anddisadvantages of different technical solutions. Then it puts forward multi-channelparallel synchronous acquisition SDM fire sensor array monitoring scheme based ontunable laser, designs fiber Bragg grating temperature sensor array, and studiesproduction process of the FBG sensor. The sensor network is realized throughmulti-core fiber optic. The data collection and monitoring software of monitoringsystem is designed and developed based on C#software, of which the interface isfriendly, and meets road fire monitoring needs. Spray control is realized as monitoringsystem communicates with fire linkage controller through RS232interface.The actual tests show that the WDM and SDM fire alarm system has higher sensitivity, accuracy and stability than all fiber Bragg grating. Monitoring systemachieves the intelligent management of the highway tunnel fire, and greatly improvesthe function of the road tunnel disaster warning.
