The red luminescent material which has high luminosity and is stable has been put emphasis on by researchers in material field. The nanocrystalline BaMoO4:Eu3+phosphors were prepared by co-precipitation method in this paper. The luminescent properties of these phosphors with different sintering temperatures and doped concentrations were studied. The main content and important results are as following:The BaMoO4:Eu3-red phosphors that can be excited effectively by the ultraviolet and blue light emitting diode (LED) were prepared by co-precipitation method. The XRD pattern of BaMoO4:Eu3+showed the crystalline phases of these samples are single-phase tetragon. The BaMoO4:Eu3+phosphors have considerable luminescent intensity, the excitation takes on a double peak structure which locates at ultraviolet(395nm) and visible blue light(464nm).The emission is a line spectrum and the main peak located at visible red light(613nm).So the BaMoO4:Eu3+phosphor may be a good candidate phosphor for LED application. The study of emission spectrum showed different sintering temperatures and doped concentrations have different emission intensity. The energy transfer phenomenon was observed between the nanocrystalline BaMoO4host and the rare earth ion Eu3-. The energy was transferred from host to ion Eu3-. The effect of the doped Eu3+concentration on the fluorescence emission intensity was discussed. The results showed the concentration quenching depends on the doped Eu3+concentration. The optimum concentration for the luminescence of Eu3+is determined to be15mol%.
