The mural is one of the few national treasures, is the study of the history and culture of Tibet’s important information, it is our country and even the world’s cultural heritage, so the use of digital technology to the Tibetan mural protection has important significance.This paper firstly analyzes the characteristics of Tibetan mural and a summary of the current popular digital image processing technology and the digital image processing technology in the restoration of mural paintings in the important role played by. Secondly, combining the mural features the research and design of digital image technology on the mural of the repair process and method. The specific research contents include:the use of advanced image acquisition technology in Tibetan monasteries of Tibetan paintings collection; collection of digital image denoising processing of high frequency part, so that the digital image restoration; image restoration to simplify processing, the color image through degradation model technology into RGB gray chart; because the original frescoes damaged form for supporting mural wall cracks or peeling, so the use of edge detection technique for determining the damage zone boundary and the damage to split up for the next step to repair; according to the image most belonging to contain both structural information and texture information of digital image characteristics, Based on the analysis of the structural image and texture image inpainting algorithm, Combinedand with the advantages of TV algorithm and based on sample images repair algorithm, Proposed based on the TV model Constraint Sample block images complete the repair algorithm; finally, combined with the use of image processing technology and repairing algorithm, developed a Tibetan painting digital processing software, to achieve the mural protection feasibility and effectiveness.
