With the development of wireless location techniques, the demand of location is constantly growing. Although the current loca (?)V—G36, A-G36, GRRJle-0DS can basically satisfy the demand of outdoor location, the three techniques do not serve well the demand of locations in indoor or underground places since the location accuracy is not so precise and the speed is not so fast. WIFI techniques have been developed rapidly and the indoor coverage of WIFI wireless networks has become more and more widespread, which makes the precise location of mobile terminals on the basis of WIFI network become possible. Moreover, the fingerprint location techniques which are based on WIFI network have been attached much importance because of its high location accuracy, good instantaneity and strong expandability, etc. Currently, the fingerprint location techniques have become a focus on the research of indoor location techniques.Up till now, several fingerprint location systems which are based on WIFI network have been appeared, but most of them are designed in accordance with some settled scenes. At present, the indoor location systems which are based on802.11are designed without unified system architectures and technical standards. Moreover, the scheme formulation, the adoption of location technique, the system performance test, evaluation and optimization of these systems are relatively complex. Therefore, in this thesis, the WIFI fingerprint location algorithm was studied firstly, then a WIFI location simulator has been designed. Before WIFI fingerprint location system projects are implemented, the users can adopt this simulator to conduct and analyze simulation in the location areas, which is beneficial to the formation of location solutions, feasibility test, the improvement and optimization of location system, so the designed simulator can help user to avoid unnecessary losses and consumptions due to the blind implementation of projects. Meanwhile, this simulator is useful for beginners and those who are interested in fingerprint location techniques to be familiar with the relevant knowledge in this field, so it has valuable theoretical as well as practical significance.Firstly, WIFI fingerprint location techniques was analyzed and studied from the aspects of signal propagation models and fingerprint location algorithm performance, etc. Additionally, analyses and researches of simulation was carried out in different simulation environments on the basis of four typical location algorithms. Focus on the defects of the traditional Bayesian probability algorithm, some modification to this algorithm was proposed. Then, analyses of simulation was conducted by applying the modified Bayesian algorithm to different environments. The research results have illustrated that compared with the traditional Bayesian probability algorithm, the modified algorithm is improved in the aspects of location accuracy, stability, instantaneity, etc.Based on the deeply research on the WIFI fingerprint location techniques, this thesis has adopted EXT and ASP.NET techniques to design WIFI fingerprint location simulator system on the basis of MVC architecture, and achieved location process display and simulation results analysis in different simulation environments with different location algorithms. The designed simulator system mainly consists of user register and cancellation module, system settings module, system back-stage management module, location offline stage simulation configuration module, online location simulation module, simulation data scan and analysis module, message management module, etc. The location offline stage simulation configuration module is further divided into four modules, namely simulation map management module, simulation line formation module, simulation scene configuration module and fingerprint RSS management module. The test results show that the designed simulator has completed the expected function well and possesses some practical value.
