With the rapid development of network communication technology and IT in the general family life, the intergrations of computer, consumer electronics and communications are increasingly evident. Modern intelligent home of the21st century will become a new fashion of the modern family, because it’s safe, convenient, efficient, fast and intelligent. But smart home system in the country based embedded systems is just emerging. Recently, because of the more extensive application of embedded technology and decreased costs of embedded hardware, the smart home will eventually towards the development of embedded direction.On the basis of analysis of domestic and international smart home’s development status, this paper, proposed a real-time monitoring of the program via the Internet, according to the requirements of smart home remote monitoring system. The program requires that the transmission of video, home appliances, information and indoor temperature must be real-time. This project is based on S3C6410chip and embedded Linux system as a platform. A network server is builed on it as an intermediary. The system is responsible for collecting the USB camera data, home applicances running status, and the temperature of temperature sensor, then it finally sent to the remote PC application for monitoring. Then the remote PC just in Web pages will be able to see the termination of the video image as well as appliance operating conditions of monitoring in real time. The main work is as follows:1. Based on the investigation of the current status and development of domestic as well as international smart home system, the paper designed a system framework about embedded intelligent home network monitoring. The S3C6410processor and Linux operating systems, its low power consumption, processing capability, control and achieve a simple and inexpensive. The system uses the S3C6410processor and Linux operating systems, because of its low power consumption, processing ability, control and low prices.2. The paper introduces the process of building the embedded development environment and embedded Linux systems, including the reduction and transplantation of bootloader transplantation, the Linux kernel, file system production and so on.3. The project chose a USB camera to capture video, with the open source software mjpeg-streamer. This software can capture and send the video data to the Internet through the socket. Then it introduces the transplantation of the Web server in the ARM+Linux platform. Next it briefly introducd the CGI program and it’s program. The experimental results show that the system designed in this paper realised the basic functionality of the smart home remote control. And embedded smart home remote monitoring system has a unique advantage in size, power, performance and scalability, broad space for development.
