Nowadays information explosion exists, different types of media coexist and thelanguage of global village has realized in the field of media. Among all the new typesof media, radio has converted from incremental entertainment to constant life style,which has resulted in the relationship change between radio as a medium andaudiences and the share of market has been subdivided more specifically.In the conventional sense, mass media have become the demassified mediaamong the new media setup, whose number of audience has shrunk epitaxially but itsfeature is highlighted, its value has accumulated and its loyalty can be guaranteedfirmly. The orientation of radio programs has been further focused due to audience’schannel diversification and marketization. At present the audience’s time and space isbitty so radio medium needs being adjusted afresh. The appearance of the radio talkshow on emotion in Tianjin has complied with the development tendency ofcategorized broadcasting. Under the guidance of demassified communication theory,the platform has been established for Tianjin audience to release their feelings, takingthe advantage of privacy and interactivity to set up a platform for caring about thelayfolk’s privacy of mental emotion and offering a new path for categorization ofChina’s radio frequency.The thesis starts with radio talk show on emotion in Tianjin and has a fairlycomprehensive study on radio talk show on emotion by text analysis, discourseanalysis and other methods, based on the relevant theories of communication studies,broadcast and television journalism and sociology.The thesis is mainly composed of three parts. The first part introduces the currentsituation, problems and progress of radio talk show on emotion, i.e., the status of channel operation, including the definition of radio talk show on emotion, initiationbackground, radio operation status of revenue and expenditure, tune-in and thegrowing trend of radio talk show on emotion. The second part studies hosts, programdirectors, participators, off-site audience, talk content, language signs and non-verbalsigns one by one based on text analysis and discourse analysis, making up the lack inmethodology for radio talk show on emotion for the time being with a new method,unveiling the problems in radio talk show on emotion in the process of research, i.e.,short of social charisma of the channel, a desire for improving hosts and unscientificprogram arrangement. The third part puts forward some solutions by summing up theexisting problems in radio talk show on emotion in Tianjin from the perspective ofdevelopment and on the premise of placing radio talk show on emotion undercategorized broadcasting. As far as the definite strategies are concerned, the thesiscomes up with four suggestions: first of all, overall consideration and refiningcategorized broadcasting; secondly, precise orientation and pushing forwardcategorized broadcasting in a diversified ways; thirdly, making a good choice betweenaccepting and rejecting to propel categorized broadcasting in a unique way; last butnot least, catering to the market and targeting minority audience. Hopefully the thesiscan offer some instructive guidance for the growth of radio talk show on emotion.
