Voltage Transducer is one of the basic equipments in power monitoring system. Optical-fiber Voltage Transducer, as a new voltage measurement device, overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional electromagnetic voltage transformer, but there are still some questions, such as temperature stability, environmental disturbances and the slow process of practical. For those problems, we proposed a new Optical-fiber Voltage Transducer based on SOP Measurement, which reduced the shortcomings to a certain extent.Firstly, this paper summarizes the development situation and the classification of the optical fiber sensor, points out problems of currently developed Optical-fiber Voltage Transducer. Secondly, it detailed introduces the basic theories of BGO-Pockels effect; deuces the Transfer matrix, Miller matrix and Principal SOP of Pockels effect; calculates the relationship between voltage and SOP. On those bases, it promotes an approach of a new Optical-fiber Voltage Transducer based on SOP Measurement, introduces the head of transducer, optical source and SOP Measurement. After that, test the system with high voltage, describes the experimental results, deals with experiment data, and analysis of the causes of error. At last, this paper summarizes the work I did. All those work I do provides the theory and experimental evidences for the practice and commercial using of Optical-fiber Voltage Transducer based on SOP Measurement.
