Taking the existing traditional telecommunications network and Internet as the information carrier, Internet of Things (IOT) is through information sensing devices such as radio frequency identification to connect with the current Internet, so that all the objects could be individually addressable also can be connected with the interconnection network. However, the technical standards of the Internet of things have not yet achieved unity, different countries and organizations are actively developing their own technical specifications. In the current standards, the EPCglobal’s EPC Network standard has more prominent influence.In EPCglobal’s EPC network, as an important composition technology of Internet of Things, the basic function of ONS is to map an object’s EPC code to one or more EPCIS Server’s URI which is the address storing details Informations of items. In order to compatible with the existing DNS domain name resolution, the ONS service resolution completely adopt the same work method compared to the DNS resolve mechanism (referred to DNS-ONS). However, the current DNS-ONS can’t support the interconnection of different coding analysis network, Inherently having ONS server performance bottlenecks, having Root server resolving permission monopoly, and not be able to quickly and accurately to meet the mass level items queries, these problems prompt the existing EPCglobal standards to make some changes to satisfy network connection among worldwide. In order to further meet the performance of ONS analysis, we combine the practical applications of P2P technology with the Internet of Things, and make full use of existing computer network technology, this paper propose a new ONS resolution mechanism based on a structured P2P technology (referred to P2P-ONS). Main innovation of the new mechanism as follows:(1) The mechanism adopt hierarchical and structured P2P network structure, and achieve to distribute storage of massive information in order to implement a balanced load on the ONS server node;(2) The paper improves the existing DHT mechanism of structured P2P technology, so that new mechanism can achieve to the resource properties aggregation for the index information of the same items in the routing table;(3) The mapping table that both super nodes and ordinary nodes respectivly maintain implement EPC code mapped to IP address of EPCIS server directly, eliminating the second query of DNS for the DNS-ONS resolution mechanism, so the service of address translation to the items have been improved greatly;(4) Through the analysis of the current DS discovery mode and on the basis of P2P-ONS static analysis, we put forward an efficient and accurate mechanism of dynamic analysis.Finally, by OverSim network simulation platform, we compared DNS-ONS system with P2P-ONS system from two aspects on query efficiency and query delay. Simulation experiments show that P2P-ONS resolution system has better load balancing performance, could avoid the problem of root ONS bottleneck and is extremely suitable for large-scale inquiry, especially in the face of mass-level items information.
