Improving processing accuracy and efficiency has been playing a significant and essential role for development of CNC machining technology. The 3D measurement technologies with multi-sensors and data processing are being developed to improve machining precision and effectiveness for CNC machining system.Based on contact and non-contact measurement technologies, the VMC0851 CNC machining center is taken as a testing bed,3D inspection technology for CNC machining system is researched so that the 3D surface of the machined object is reconstructed, and its surface is inspected on line effectively.In the process to scan the surface, in order to obtain the data about the edge, deep hole and grooves solve, a touch probe and laser vision sensors are combined, a novel measurement head, which a touch probe and laser vision sensors are integrated, is presented. Based on the presented measurement head and a CNC processing center, the theory and technology about data registration are studied, the research content and the results are as follows:1. The principle of the inspection system is researched, and the measurement on the process of the numerical control machining is implemented.2. The ICP algorithm is modified so that the data registration precision is improved obviously.3. Based on the triangulations and registration, the data fusion for the rules surface area is realized, and the the overlap of 3D data points, which are from contact measurement, are eliminated so that the registration precision is further improved.4.
