A remarkable characteristic of the next generation wireless network is the heterogeneity of wireless network and mobile terminal. "Heterogeneous" contains a different rate link or different access technology integration, as well as the different receiving ability of terminal. How to effectively manage and use the heterogeneous wireless network resources, and dig out the heterogeneous wireless network potential performance, in order to provide users with a higher quality of service (QoS), is the focus research in the heterogeneous wireless network.The wireless resource management issues in heterogeneous wireless network are researched in this thesis. Firstly the current study of heterogeneous network wireless resource management is researched, including the structure of heterogeneous network wireless resource management, the existing main heterogeneous wireless resource management algorithms and the current wireless resources management standardization. Secondly, based on LTE and WLAN heterogeneous wireless network, the structure of heterogeneous simulation platform and its simulation scheme based on OPNET is put forward, with emphasis on implementing the key technologies of WLAN network, including the design of each function module in the simulation platform, channel access in 802.11 n and the realization of key techniques of frame polymerization. Thirdly, based on the heterogeneous network system level simulation platform, the implementation scheme of two heterogeneous wireless resource management algorithms are presented, which are the heterogeneous network selection algorithm based on the value and heterogeneous load balancing algorithm based on overload recognition, including algorithm framework and the specific implementation steps. Finally, the algorithm simulation results are given in specific scenes. Compared with the random access algorithm, the network selection algorithm based on value outperforms in throughput.
