With IP technology and multimedia technology continues to evolve, network bandwidth continuously increases, the capacity of access network, transmission network and core exchange network is also rising With the continuous development of data communications technology. more high-speed data services become reality, video Streaming services is one of the most important one, It has three important features:real-time, continuous, time ordered. The development of high-speed basic transmission network provides the technology assurance of video streaming service development.The video streaming service is rapidly developing all over the world and become a new revenue growth of telecom operators. Video streaming media technology is a good supplement of traditional broadcast TV services. Traditional internet services have a tolerance of existing defects in IP networks, but because of the continuous, real-time, time ordered feathers of video streaming services, these defects may cause the user experience a bad influence. But because of the feathers of video streaming services, It has a high requirement for the quality of network. Jitter and lost package will may lead to mosaic or blank screen appeared in the video of the client, these defects may cause the user experience a bad influence. From the user perspective, network video streaming services should have the same quality with or even better than digital television video, so the most important point for the service is how to ensure the performance of the video streaming service and protect the QoE (Quality of the customer experience). The network infrastructure, communication protocols and operational of the video streaming service are so complex that the telecom operators often meet difficulties during the work of network construction and maintenance. So there exists a requirement of the monitor system of the video streaming service. This article is focus on Design and Implementation of video streaming quality monitoring system, the main objective is to effectively assess and monitor the transmission quality of network video streaming. First this paper detailedly analysis the basis technology and the business form of video streaming, And in-depth study of video quality assessment method, Finally make the Main framework and specific methods of the video stream quality monitoring system. Then Set up network platform to test and check that the monitoring system of video streaming quality has been implemented.The author is a graduate student primarily involved in the Beijing University of Posts and Communications Tests Technology Research Center of testing video streaming performance metrics. This paper is the period conclusion of the theory in graduate research and development experience, also a detailed description of the research project. The main aspects related to the following:1. Studied on video streaming transmission in different kinds of networking technology, analyzed the characteristic of network environment and its impact on the network video quality, describe the composition of the network video system and its way of work, described the video streaming technology and network features of video streaming, and analyzed models various factors of the impact on video quality.2. Studied on existing subjective and objective video quality measurement method and recent years’improvements. Understand the current measurement methods, and the scope of each method, advantages and disadvantages of several existing methods to evaluate video quality metrics, deeply studied the video quality assessment method from packet loss perspective, researched the structure of network video and different impacts on quality with different kinds of packet losses, through a subjected test to explore the factors that impact the visibility of a individual packet loss in MPEG-2 videos, gave a classified and regression tree model to predicted the visibility of a packet loss.3. Selected MDI-based indicators to analyze the substance and designed the video streaming performance monitoring system for the package format of TS/RTP/UDP/IP to calculate the video streaming MLR: DF value. Build the test environment, through the designed system to measure indicators of MOS and MDI, then analyze the experimental results, prove the validity of testing methods, finally according to the method of data fitting in mathematics calculated the relationship between video quality transmission bandwidth and optical attenuation, provide a algorithm to predict video quality key parameters base on MDI, which is useful for video service provider.
