| With the development of Computer graphics and progress of 3D model with image processing Technology,3D models have been widely used in industrial product design, virtual reality,3D games, film and television animation, simulation, molecular biology, medicine and other fields. Growing number of 3D model make its management increasingly complex.It’s an addressing problem to provide users with a rich 3D model ofresources and convenient browsing/retrieval methods. In this paper,3D modeling and model retrieval are two points with the search, design and implementation of a web-based model database management system is particularly introduced.First of all,on 3D modeling, we introduced the manual modeling method and we focus on the use of the program to crawl the web to achieve a 3D model data on the existing resources (such as Google 3D Warehouse), and batch to automatically convert them to the desired models. Secondly, on the 3D model retrieval, each model were classified and added the attribute label manually. We established the text index database to achieve a text-based 3D model retrieval method. Finally, we use the Project 863 "course of conduct for motor vehicles and rapid prototyping" as the basis,we achieved the model building of a 1200 vehicles and traffic environment, and these models were classified and added labels by name, type, color and other attributes to implement a Web-based 3D model management system that provide text-based model retrievalã€model retrieval based on the vehicle image and model retrieval based on 3D model. |
