ROF (Radio over fiber) technology is a communication technology which uses optical fiber as transmission medium for transmitting RF signals that combined optical and microwave proposed in1990. It sets the optical fiber communication of high bandwidth, low loss, high reliability and microwave technology for disaster resistance ability, easy installation and other advantages in one, in every field of communications has extensive and important application. ROF in a short span of several decades, in the field of mobile communication,3G,4G ITS, UWB and other fields play an important role, for the people’s work and life has brought great convenience, for the enterprise, the state to create a huge economic benefits.This paper from theory to practice gave a detailed study of the ROF system and its key technology.This paper from theory to practice a detailed study of the ROF system and its key technology, research on ROF signal transmission in the specific process and key points, extracted from the ROF signal transmission two key:single sideband transmission and using wavelength division multiplexing, of which the former is for reliability, the latter to validity. And on this basis put forward the sampled fiber grating applied in ROF system of research direction and research methods, and theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. This paper mainly includes the following aspects:A detailed study of the presentation of the fiber Bragg grating definition, categories, preparation method, application and analysis methods, and draw, such as long period fiber gratings chirped fiber Bragg gratings apodized fiber grating, and many other commonly used optical fiber grating reflection spectrum/transmission spectrum;From the sampling fiber grating structure, in-depth analysis and derivative sampled fiber grating coupled mode theory, based on the transfer matrix method got the sampling fiber grating reflectivity formula, and through the simulation the conclusion;Based on the theoretical analysis of sampled fiber grating studied its reflection spectrum, focusing on the parameter change on the grating reflection spectrum and the free spectral range of the influence;Research on the existing ROF technology, and on this basis the introduction of sampled fiber grating filter, realizing optical single sideband transmission ROF system, and the analysis of its transmission characteristics. Finally, got can be applied to the four road and multi-path signal sampling optical fiber grating structure.
