With the social progress and rapid development of science and technology, humen have entered the twenty-first century, the information technology and artificial intelligence technology are rapidly developing .With the continuous improvement of living standards and the increasingly rich cultural life, development of the Internet makes it more convenient for people to get access to digital media. People put forward higher requirements on entertainment products, of which digital music products is one important aspect. Dancing Robot is a new research direction. The robot is able to dance with the rhythm of music, melody and so on. Music Dancing Robot covers acoustics, music theory, music theory, digital signal processing theory, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence and automatic control and other fields, which is comprehensive. Effective for real-time extraction of musical features is important for the robot dancing with music accompany. As long as the extraction of real-time features accurate, can ensure the accuracy of the robot’s dancing. This paper focuses on the music signal’s characteristic parameter extraction and processing and to control the robot moves. Music signal characteristic parameter extraction inlcdes the extraction of music pitch, sound intensity, the drums beat, melody and other musical emotion. Extraction methods include short-term time-domain method, short-term frequency-domain methods and wavelet transform methods. In the hardware designation, the ARM processor is adopted to control the robot’s movement. This designation adopts the PC and slave combination method, the PC extracts the characteristics of music and send it to the ARM processor to realize the control of the robot’s movement match with the characteristics of music.
