Coalbed methane(CBM) as one of the important gas energy, more and more countries around the world pay attention to it in recent years.CBM resource is abundant in China and has broad prospect of development. The CBM industry has a pivotal position in China’s energy industry sustainable development and can bring huge social and economic benefits to China with much room for development. However, the situation of China’s CBM is that the production of per well is low. the number of wells is huge, the time of drainage is long, the production area is large and the workload of patrolling wells is heavy. So it is particularly important to develop a set of intelligent production control platform for CBM.With the development of computer hardware and software and the wide application of GIS (Geographic Information System), it provides the technical protection for developing CBM control and HMI system. In this paper.it takes the application of GIS technology in the field of CBM monitoring as the main goal of this study, meantime combines network communication technology.database technology,flame detection technology and Web technology to develop an experimental CBM monitoring platform using MapX component.This paper firstly introduces the background and significance of CBM monitoring system and the development status. Secondly introduces the role of GIS technology, MapX component technology and the sockets network communication technology. Then designs the structural framework of the system according to the need analysis of the monitoring system. Under this framework, the process of monitoring work firstly establishes a wireless network communication with the client by network communication technology. Then completes real-time monitoring of the wells information using the MapX strong expressed function of the map. When the wells work abnormally, it should give the alarm timely. Finally, this paper gives the system implementation process, while achives the Web version of the system and obtains the corresponding summary.This system is based on the VS2008development platform, designs and achives some basic features of the CBM control and human-computer interaction system. Using the system can completes real-time, reliable, graphical monitoring of CBM wells. This system makes sense to try in CBM monitoring with good development prospects and application prospects.
