Robot football game composed by visual subsystem, wireless communication subsystem, strategy subsystem and little robot vehicle, is the basic one of lots of robot competitions. The whole competition completes by the little robot vehicle under the strategy subsystem’s control. The visual subsystem collects the image data by using hardware equipments, which is transmitted by the wireless communication subsystem, and then the instructions are sent out by the strategy subsystem after making data processing and judgments. Only under the high corporation of these subsystems, the whole system can conduct the set movements better. And therefore, this requests favorable hardware equipments. Based on this, upgrading and refining the whole strategy subsystem, studying the robots’poses, role as well as the task during the competition can improve the whole football robot system.This paper designed and optimized all the subsystems of the football robot. First of all, it redesigned the little robot vehicle to improve the precision and reduce the producing cost by optimizing its structure and improving the manufacture methods and technics. Secondly, it used high-speed image collection system instead of the former common image collection system, which improved the camera’s collection precision and made the picture much clearer. Thirdly, it optimized the control circuit of the whole football robot, increased the number of the data signal processing module and improved the control system’s processing speed and anti-jamming ability. Finally, as to the strategy subsystem, in order to improve the robot’s intelligence quotient, it set different roles and assign various task for every little robot vehicle of the football team, optimized the movement path and enhanced the tactic corporation among them.The new football robot system after being optimized, had high response speed, could understand the roles much clearer and conduct the movement instructions more accurate. Most important, it was more intelligent and reduced the cost of the whole system. Developing football robot production and promoting this system to the colleges can help them enhance the research on the mechanical, electrical, automatic control, artificial intelligence, image processing as well as computer science. It can also become a research platform for the multi-subjects. And promoting robot football competition can improve the students’innovation and study ability.
