With the development of modern science and technology, the applications of auto-mated measurement are more and more widely. Meanwhile, the research of high-precision measurement technology is paid much more attention too. This article is the summary of the work that the author has done in the school’s ongoing research on the precision meas-urement system.Firstly, taking advantage of the broad roofs of electronic information building, the test platform of antenna far-field is built. And on the basis of template provided by the equip-ment suppliers, the automatic test system is developed making use of GPIB remote control technology. Then, two different new-type antennas are designed, one is a UWB antenna, another is a GPS antenna with steady phase center. The design process and measured re-sults are given in this paper, which verifying the availability of the measurement platform. Finally, the paper preliminarily explores the measurement techniques of the phase center and laid the foundation for follow-up high-precision test research.The paper contains6chapters. In the first and second chapters, research background and used software are introduced, and then the basic principle of antenna far-field meas-urement systems is stated, laying the ground work of the study. Then the third chapters mainly describes the hardware implementation of the antenna far-field measurement sys-tem, including the control system of vector network analyzer based on GPIB and the de-sign of the three-dimensional rotating machine controlling system implemented by the MPC08control card. The design of system’s software is introduced in the fourth chapter. VB is the development platform of the software, implementing the interface programming. In the fifth chapters, two antennas are designed firstly. One is a UWB antenna, and another is a GPS antenna with steady phase center. They are simulated by HFSS software and proc-essed into physical. To verify the validity and reliability of the system, they are measured using the measurement platform built in this paper. Then the measurement tech-nique of the antenna phase center is studied. The measurement used the function of moving reference point and the data is processed with the help of MATLAB software.The antenna far-field automated measurement system is completed successfully in this paper. And the system has been applied to the antenna measurement of our laboratory, laying a solid foundation for future high-precision test technology.
