Along with the development of network technology, VOD system based on streaming media has achieved a rapid development. In order to reduce the pressure of data server in video on demand system, improve the network transmission efficiency of data, P2P technology is introduced to the video on demand system to replace the traditional C/S structure.But the P2P system has the feature that a peer has multiple choices for requesting data. How to choose the proper peer from the peer neighbors becomes an important issue. This paper discusses the peer selection mechanism in an interactive P2P streaming media system by using the issue that how to support the large-scale streaming media service as a background. The main work of this paper includes the following aspects:1. Design a scheme of peer optimization selection based on real time resource situation and implement a framework about the peer dispatching combining with the characteristics of interactive P2P streaming media system,2. Design and implement the P2P condition monitoring module based on peer’s QoS information to support the peer optimization selection.3. Combining the characteristics of user behavior in interactive streaming media service system, design and implement the peer optimization scheduling algorithm based on real time resource situation which can avoid the influence to the service reliability caused by peer dynamic change effectively.
