The demand on resource is increasing when human beings have entered the21st century, as the one-time fossil fuels get mined-out, such as coal, natural gasand oil, the energy crisis has become a central issue. In recent years, manyscientists focus on seeking and exploiting new energy. Solar energy has acquiredthe widspread attention because of its many advantages, such as huge reserve,long-term sustained, low-carbon and environmental protection, et al.Because the solar energy density is small and the solar orientation changesover time, it’s difficult to collect, transmit and store the solar energy. Therefore,the utilization of solar energy is improved by using the technology of high-powercondenser and automatic tracking, and the scope of solar energy application isalso expanded. The sunlight conveyor has proposed in this paper, it is used toimport the sunlight into the indoor by optical fiber directly, the interior lightingprocess doesn’t exist the light, heat, electricity and mechanical energyconversion. But the traditional illuminating mode is changed from“light-electric-light” to “light-light”, and the utilization of solar energy efficiencyhas increased more than8times, meanwhile, the light source is the ideal naturallight.Sunlight conveyor mainly contains the sunlight sensor, automatic trackingcontrol system, tracking device, collecting sunlight device, LED lamps lighting,et al. New type four-quadrant rough adjustment sensor and three-dimensionalfine adjustment sensor are designed in the paper, these two sensors haveprovided a wide range, stable and reliable sunlight azimuth signal for trackingsystem through they had mutually matched. The core of sunlight conveyor isautomatic tracking control system, which can adopt dual axle automatic trackingcontrol technology. The MCU can use ATmega32microcontroller to control themotor, the motor can find the sun from east-west direction and north-southdirection respectively, and tracking error angle is less than0.1°, so that the sun isalways vertically illuminating the collecting sunlight device. The device will converge the sunlight into the small highlighted spot with2mm in diameterthrough the plane convex lens with80mm in diameter, optical fiber installed inthe mouthpart of fiber conveys the highlight spot into indoor lighting, so thegreen lighting can be realized. The energy-saving LED lamp lighting can be usedat night or rainy day, which energy comes from the power of the daytime solarpanel stored in the batteries.The research and development of sunlight conveyer is mainly introduced inthe paper, such as the hardware circuit structure design, software architecture andmechanical structure design. Finally, the system is overall debugged, and thetesting data is analyzed and summarized. Running results show that theautomatic tracking control system is running accurately, the sunlight conveyerreaches the desired design requirement because of the stable and reliable running.The utilization of solar energy is improved substantially, therefore, it has uppervalue of practicality and popularization.
