In recent years,3D scanning equipment has been greatly improved in theprecision and scanning speed since the3D scanning technic appeared, add to thecomputer virtual reality technology has moved forward, and computerperformance has optimized also. All these achievement promoted the gooddevelopment of cultural relics digitalization. Cultural relics digitization is aeffective way to protect our great historical heritage,research which hasprofound significance was necessary.The method of cultural relics3D digitalization based on laser scanningtechnology was studied and applied in the thesis. Firstly, theoretical basis ofeach link in cultural relics3D digitalization was researched.Then, different typesof cultural relics digitalization method was studied based on reverse engineeringsoftware Imageware态Geomagic and rendering software3ds Max, Vray etc, as thesurface reconstruction was focused. The content of the research mainly include:Various ways of point cloud obtaining were researched and summarized,and the optical measurement principle in non-contact measurement was studiedas a focal point. Scanning principle of3DSS3D scanner and VIVID910whichbelonged to our institute was researched and measurement method of VIVID910was also discussed as a key point. Eventually the scanning of reflective surfaceand matte surface of cultural relics was completed, it checked the scanningscheme.Method and principle of point cloud processing was researched andanalyzed. Taking different surface of cultural relics as objects,completed theirpoint cloud date processing.Three points alignment method was studied andverified detailedly in the thesis. Finally the existing problems of different original points cloud was put forward, and the point cloud processing methodof ruled surf and complex surf was summarized.Basic theories of the surface reconstruction was researched. General surfacereconstruction and fast surface reconstruction method was studied and fastsurface reconstruction method researched as a focal point. Comprehensivelyanalyzed the error caused by surface reconstruction. In the reverse softwareImageware态Geomagic environment respectively completed reconstruction andaccuracy evaluation of ruled surf and complex surf based on multiple specificcultural relics. Thus,the method of reducing the reconstruction error was putforward.The texture mapping technology was Researched briefly, the texturemapping method and two kind of texture mapping realize platform was alsodiscussed in detail. Through to texturing map of different cultural relics model,found the different texture mapping method suit for different example of culturalrelics. And at last specific laws has been summed up,the best mapping effectshas been got.
