Based on this kind of market background, this paper is mainly research the GPSnavigation and positioning system. In recent years, the rapid development of mobileindustry provides more wide development space for the GPS navigation system.Themodern cell phones have more functions, and a lot of mobile phones on the markethave the function of the navigation and positioning.Based on the background of market,this paper mainly studies the GPS navigation and positioning system.This paper is mainly research the implementation of the GPS navigation andpositioning system on ARM9platform.The system mainly divided into the hardwaredesign and software design. The hardware proportion of the system introduced themain chip S3C2440and outer interface circuit design including power circuit, resetcircuit, GPS module circuit and serial circuit, all above these are used for hardwareproportion. The hardware need to complete the task for receiving GPS signals andtransfer the date to the processor through a serial port. About the software proportionof the system, introduce the method to build the development environment andtransplanting process of Linux Kernel. The software need to complete part is the maintask of the display accurate coordinate information including time,longitude andlatitude and other information.
