With the explosive growth of information on the Internet, search engines putforward higher requirements for the quality of the information obtained. In order tohelp users find what they need more easily and to improve correlation, search enginemust study user behavior and mine patterns of behavior deeply. The topic of thisarticle heads from a project team of some company’s core department which the goalof the team is committed to studying user behavior to promote the user’s searchexperience.With the help of data mining technology and Lucene which is ahigh-performance, full-featured text search engine library written entirely in Java,We design and implement personalized search engine. And then we compare withthe non-personalized search system, the results indicate that our system is better thannon-personalized search system.First,to reach the goal, we introduce information retrieval theory. We show apanorama of the search engine, and point out the importance of search engineevaluation. We also describe in detail the basic theory of data mining andrecommender system.Second, we analyze demand for personalized search engine in three dimensions.And then we build a model of personalized search engine and evaluation system.The potential risks of personalized search engine will be involved. On the base ofthese works, the overall planning of personalized search engine will be presented.Third, show the effectiveness of the approach,we show the deduction of thatuser behavior data can be used for personalized search. In order to store vastamounts of user behavior data, we designed a data warehouse system.Finally, this paper proposes three kinds of personalized search enginearchitectures. Considering the costs and the degree of coupling to the existing system,we realize a personalized search engine by integration of the second and the thirdarchitecture. And then through a personalized environment and contrast environment, we confirm the personalized search engine will be meet user demand better.
