P2P, namely Peer to Peer, which is accounting for a large part of the current web application. From the instant communication, resource sharing, network television to distributed computing, network game and electronic commerce, P2P technology has played a significant role. P2P technology has become a research focus. With the depletion of the IPv4address, the deployment of IPv6is the only available solution to the development of the Internet. As the next generation Internet Protocol, IPv6increases hugely the size of the IP adderss. In2003the China Next-Generation Internet (CNGI) began. It has built the world largest IPv6demonstration network. At present, IPv6applications are scarce, so IPv6technology has not get promotion.While the combination of IPv6and P2P technology could effectively promoted the development of the IPv6Internet.This thesis makes a deep research on development status and prospects of IPv6technology and P2P technology, and the advantages of their combination are analyzed. And accordance with the implementation of video system in IPv6based on P2P multicast technology wich as the outline, the IPv6addressing structure, safety and QoS related content, and IPv6network application development technology are discussed. At the same time, a new approach is presented to solve the P2P network flow optimization problem.After the theory and technology research are presented, proposed a whole architecture of P2P video system in IPv6network, under the basis of open source video system MySeeLite in IPv4network, using the C++programming languageand and the ACE network programming library in IPv6, a P2P video system based on IPv6has been designed and implemented. Finally, the paper carries on the detailed analysis and summary on the system. These for further research and development proposed vision and ideas.
