Design And Application Of Mobile Game UI System Based On Cocos2d-x Engine

Although the hardware in the mobile platform has been greatly improved recently, the limitation still exits. In order to attract players, electronic games have a different playing strategy compared with the computer games, since the mobile phone games require active interactions between players and game to gain a better gaming experience. Graphical User Interface is the path linking players and games, distinct from traditional mouse, keyboard, and hand shank etc. used in computer. The interaction between players and games in mobile devices is mainly by touch screen, but traditional UI system is not able to meet this need.In this thesis, by analyzing the popular UI systems currently and using their typical frameworks and the game engine (cocos2d-x), a new UI system FlowUI is designed and implemented for mobile games.According to a careful analysis on requirement, the key functions in FlowUI including window management, event-handle and attribution mechanism etc are realized. Besides, a series of controls have been developed as well to meet the specialist of the system. Furthermore, taking account of the differences of screen size and resolution in different mobile devices, an adaptive mechanism on different platforms is introduced in FlowUI. In this case, developers need only to focus on the logics of a game, which will contribute to the acceleration of a development process.What’s more, the FlowUI system can be used for developing a complier named FlowUIEditor. FlowUIEditor makes it more convenient to create a game interface and then convert it to the standard configuration file. This helps to reduce the cost of developing a game.
