With the rapid development of computer sciences, communications technology and Webtechnology, the modern remote monitering technique has widely been used in many fieldssuch as industrial control, Smart Home System, public security, etc. In the actual monitoringsystem, the control terminal composed by the data acquisition module and the transceiverplatform accesses to external networks via a gateway device to realize information exchangesand the remote monitering between the remote clients and the controlled Unit. Currently, theWiFi (wireless fidelity) technology which is a popular wireless LAN technology has provideda possibility for the realization of embedded devices to access wireless broadband network.The application of WiFi in the modern remote monitering system is becoming a hotspot in thefield of the development of embedded system gradually.On the base of research of remote monitor technology, embedded techniques of WebServer, DB technology and wireless communication technology, this paper proposed awireless remote monitoring system based on an embedded Web server. The design of systemtook the embedded ARM system as the hardware platform, the Embedded Linux as thesoftware platform and multiple controlled devices or sensor nodes as data collection terminals.Combined with the wireless network support of Embedded Linux, the function of WiFi wasintegrated with the embedded Web Server to enable the embedded remote monitoringterminal connect to the wireless AP (Access Point). Finally, the remote clients can visit WebServer and the back Database Server connected with the Web Server to fulfill the data-queryand the management of equipments.Aiming to solve the problems of data transmission and remote control, this paperintroduced the implement method and advantages of the embedded Web Server in the twoaspects. Then we accomplished the design of software and hardware platforms. Especially,the integration of WiFi function to the embedded system was a very important work. At last,we wrote the application programs and completed the system test.
