The status detection of electric-power on-site is the detection of running state of electrical equipment and the electric power parameter collected by electrical equipment. The status detection of electric-power on-site generally uses the way of working by handwork or notebook computer and uploading detection information now. This way cannot meet the requirements of smart grid construction stipulated by the country. It also makes workers work inconveniently and cannot supervise and manage workers effectively. So the improved way of work is needed. In accordance with the actual business need of the status detection, this paper analyses the deficiencies of the current status detection system and provides a kind of solution that is based on PDA and achieves the information management system which make the status detection smart. By using the technology of Web Services and information encryption, safe and reliable data exchange is achieved, and by designing the database interface, the rapid and accurate data input is realized. The process of detection work is made normative by designing, which make the monitoring and management for workers effective. The system of the status detection of electric-power on-site designed in this paper has been tested in ChongQing and ChengDu. The test results show that the system meet the design requirements, and run steadily. In addition, the test results of encryption algorithm show that encryption algorithm can be used on PDA well.
