Electromagnetic methods for geophysical survey have over 100 years of history. It has a wide range of applications in groundwater investigations, solid waste and pollutants underground exploration, archeology, soil assessment, urban pipeline detection, measurement of ice thickness and even oil exploration. There are three major categories of electromagnetic exploration methods commonly used in engineering:ground-penetrating radar method (GPR), time domain electromagnetic method (TEM), frequency domain electromagnetic method (FEM). These three methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Ground-penetrating radar is the use of ultra-high frequency (106-109Hz) to detect subsurface distribution of the electromagnetic pulse of a prospecting method. Mainly used for the detection of high resistance region, and according to very high resolution, practice has shown that it can detect underground 0.1-1m scale media distribution. Frequency domain electromagnetic detection equipment is the use of firing frequency changes or send and receive distance changes to detective different depths target, can also transmit coil and receive coil using different structures to improve detection capability and detection instrument effects. Time domain electromagnetic method, also known as transient electromagnetic method, based on electromagnetic induction is based on the principle of time-domain electromagnetic artificial source detection method. The minimum depth of time domain electromagnetic detection equipment could detected is not only related with the receiver noise performance and other factors, but also with the transmitter off-time, turn off and turn-off waveform after the first sampling time and other factors.At present there is a few specifically for ground-penetrating radar data processing software, usually used surfer, seismic data processing software, or data processing equipment manufacturer’s software to process GPR data. The software is usually only provide basic display or data processing. Therefore, the design of ground-penetrating radar data processing software has a very real sense. Described in this article penetrating radar data processing software mainly consists software design and data processing aspects. Data processing method is mainly about coherent technique, deconvolution, wavelet analysis and others commonly method used in data processing. This data processing software on a major feature is the extensive use of computer visualization techniques.Polar sea ice is an important factor in affecting global climate change, but due to the harsh polar weather conditions and limited human resources, measuring sea ice thickness has always been a difficult field in polar research. In recent years the use of electromagnetic induction technology to detect the thickness of sea ice in polar research became a hot topic, but because a few users, few manufacturers dedicated to the sea ice thickness measurement instrument. Instruments currently in use are assembled from multiple instruments, such as the instruments used on China XueLong containes EM31-ICE, laser range finder and other six instruments, these instruments have their own power cord or battery, data cable, data acquisition software and data processing software. This not only makes the measuring is very inconvenient, error-prone and difficult to do live data monitoring, post-processing is also very inconvenient. So we have developed an independent container to install equipment and uniform supply, through the network to communicate with our data acquisition software. Greatly simplifies the on-site operations, and through real-time retrieval, computer visualization techniques to facilitate on-site monitoring and abnormal findings. We also designed the related data processing software, integrated data acquisition system for collecting data for processing.
