Optical fiber communication has become an emerging technology, because of its widewave frequency, the big transmission capacity, the good secrecy, high-temperaturehigh-pressure, anti-jamming and other advantages. I believe that in the near future, peoplelook forward to the high-speed, fast, flexible communications era upcoming arrival followed.Optical fiber communication is to use of laser as a carrier, and then transmission out of signalsthrough optical fiber. Some of the key technical issues must be resolved in this process, theelectro-optic modulation technique of the laser modulation is widely used because of itssignificant advantages.Lithium niobate modulator and its driving source as the main research object in thispaper. The first, we introduced the physical characteristics of the electro-optical modulationtechnique, followed by the lithium niobate modulator’s working principle, and then analyzedthe effect of the external DC voltage on the electro-optical modulator to achieve linearmodulation. Next we designed the circuit of the source of electro-optic modulator driver. Inthis part, we analysis of the composition and function of the driving source, and design of therelevant functions of the circuit, and also put forward the idea of that the electro-opticmodulator bias control automatically. In this electro-optic modulator communicationexperiment system, we have used a fiber collimator, it can collimate and focus of the light. Wecan improve the quality of communication to use it, and analyzed the self-focusing lens worksas well as fiber and focusing lens coupling.In order to make LiNbO3electro-optic modulator can work, so we designed the drivingsource to apply the modulation voltage and the DC bias voltage to it. Through experiments,we understand the impact of the electro-optical modulation characteristics of lasercommunication, verify that the performance of the electro-optic modulator and the driving source to the electro-optic modulator, master of the entire work process of the electro-opticmodulation of optical fiber communication systems...
