With the combination of communications and IT technology, ICT application grows up quickly, people are more and more aware of the need for integration between different systems. Currently, mobile communications and the internet of things are in a rapid development in their own fields, the antenna is a pre-requisite component in these two systems to help sending and receiving message. But the integration between the two systems is always blocked by the realistic demand and technical constraint, so people didn’t think much of this presently. Antenna design from mobile communication already has much more mature theory, but for RFID technology, the research for antenna is still in the phase of tag. This paper hopes to design a kind of antenna which is applicable to both wireless systems, and then we will have the ability to deal with the real-time data interactivity when merging these two systems.This paper gives an in-depth overview of various indicators and criterions for antenna, microstrip antenna’s characteristic; at the same time, it gives a detailed analysis about reconfigurable microstrip antenna’s implementation and the study status of two kinds reconfigurable antenna; in the end, this paper will give an optimal antenna design basing on the summary of three technologies in the design of antenna, which including the choice of antenna’s size, antenna feed method, extension bandwidth mode.After above, this paper will show that how to chose the key parameters for the whole antenna system. With the help to MEMS switches, the designed reconfigurable antenna shall full-fill the target in the aspect of resonant frequency. After analysis the simulation result and the design requirement for mobile terminal’s antenna, the author optimizes the antenna system to minimize the antenna size and extend the bandwidth base on the technology of incision slot and short circuit probe.The whole system shall be a mixed frequency and polarization reconfigurable antenna which meet both the PCS-1900 and RFID frequency.
