With the rapid development of network technology and the popularization of information technology in education, more and more people start using the network to assist learning and work, network education has become an important part of information technology in higher education of China. In order to promote the University information system, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications specifically established the Youth Fund Project-The Research and Development of General Education Platform Based on Massive Resources in 2010, I involved throughout the project’s to research and development, focus on the research of search system used in the network education platform especially in how to make the Chinese search engine more intelligent.Network education activity is based on the guiding ideology of learner-centered education concept, which is designed to improve the learning ability with autonomous learning, cooperative learning. As the emergence and use of network education platform, it provides a platform for learners and teachers to share educational resources. However, due to the massive resources in the network education platform with a diversity of content and form such as curriculum, after-school exercises, reference materials, courseware, etc., making teachers and learners in the education activities more difficult to search resources and application quickly. It is the main task of education search engine that how to maximize sharing of educational resources, so students could find the resources that they needed quickly and accurately, and the development of a search tool that can be applied to the education platform to search the massive resources will be the core to solve the problem.This study analyzed the characteristics of network education and network education platform, in this basis, combined with the learning ability evaluation criteria of network learners, we confirmed that search tool in the network education platform has theoretical value. With the full analysis of the working mechanism and the key technologies of search engines, we design a search system architecture based on an open source search engine framework-Lucene, in which by introducing the information push technology and intelligent knowledge base technology to improve the level of intelligent search engines. In addition, we also analyzed and compared the inadequacies of existing Chinese word segmentation analysis, made a Chinese word segmentation optimization, and optimized the sorting technology search results in order to make this search engine more suitable for learners in the education platform with massive resources to further improve the quality of search engines, then, users could locate the position of the required data quickly and find the resources that they need.
