Along with the continuous optimization and improvement of mobile communicationnetwork,the outdoor signal coverage has been greatly improved, and how to improve indoor signalcoverage is the telecommunication operators’current main task of network optimization. At presentthere are three main household coverage methods, they are CAT-5 UTP distribution system, CATVline distribution system and Femtocells. In this paper,CAT-5 UTP home coverage scheme is used,and the source signal is introduced into the room through twisted pair, and the client side supportsplug and play and remote power supply. This scheme which share CAT-5 UTP with LAN totransmit signals can give full play to operators’rich CAT-5 UTP resources of fixed network, and ithas advantages of convenient installation and relatively simple post-maintenance. So CAT-5 UTPdistribution system is an active antenna feeder distribution system with high intelligent level, andaccurate coverage of offices and residences of VIP users can be achieved quickly. This scheme hasgood application prospects.This paper relies on the project“Design and Implementation of Intelligent Repeater”. CDMACAT-5 UTP distribution system consists of two parts: CU and RU using tree structure networkscheme. In order to satisfy the request of long distance indoor coverage and larger areas, relay unitis introduced between CU side and RU. The relay unit uses one dragging eight tree structure. Thispaper mainly discusses the design and implementation of monitoring subsystem of CAT-5 UTPdistribution system, and gives out the composition of monitoring subsystem, and formulates acommunication protocol of interface between monitoring and management center and CAT-5 UTPdistribution system. In this protocol, hierarchical structure is used in repeater monitoring systemsouth interface communication protocol, and that every layer’s function is independent from eachother improve the expandability of the communication protocol. Based on this communicationprotocol, main monitoring functions of CAT-5 UTP distribution system are analysed, andcommunication purpose, communication process of each function and message format are givenout, and monitoring module is designed and implemented. At last, the software of monitoring andmanagement center is developed. It has four layers: communication layer, protocol layer, databaselayer and interface layer, and each layer’s function is described and implemented. Local monitoringand remote monitoring are realized separately by local serial port and CDMA MODEM(SMS)communication ways.At last,monitoring subsystem test platform is built,using one CU with one RUstructure.Different pin of CU interface is corresponding to different monitoring data,and changes of interface data are controlled by inputing different voltage to pin.The test results show that voltagechanges of pin can be reflected in the interface at once,and then indicates that the monitoringsubsystem can achieve monitoring fuctions of CAT-5 UTP distribution system.
