Ground maneuvering target tracking is to estimate the motion state of groundmaneuvering targets such as tank, vehicle, using measurement information fromGMTI sensor, and priori information about road, topography, etc. It has been widelyused in military area, such as ground battlefield monitor and battlefield situationassessment. Under the support of the general armament department weapons andequipment pre-research foundation project, this dissertation focuses on the problem ofground maneuvering target motion uncertainty at the intersection of road, groundmaneuvering target tracking in weald environment, and ground multiple maneuveringtarget tracking. The main work and achievements are as follows:Firstly, for the problem of ground maneuvering target motion uncertainty at theintersection of road, a variable structure multiple model algorithm based the modelgroup switch is presented. The algorithm establishes a model set which contain allpossible motion models of the target, divides one model subset from the model setaccording to the possible motion mode. It only needs select an adaptive model subsetto match the current motion mode. Compared with the fixed multiple model algorithm,the presented method does not need to run the all motion models to match the targetmotion every time, not avoiding the transition competition among the models. Thesimulation results show that it can improve tracking accuracy, and reducing thecomputing burden.Secondly, to solve the problem that reduces the tracking computationalcomplexity of ground single maneuvering target tracking in weald environment,ground, the curvilinear model and an iterative unscented kalman filter are presented. Ithas described the math and physics relations of some elements when the target isturning, deduced the curvilinear model equation. It is better to improve the trackingaccuracy with the iterative unscented kalman filter. Its performance has been verifiedby the simulation.Finally, In order to optimize the tracking performance of ground multiple targetand reduce the computing burden, an improved algorithm of IMMJPDA is presented.This method is that the effective echo which falling into the tracking gate is relative tothe associated probability. For the calculation of the associated probability, it does notneed split matrix, reducing the computing burden. The simulation result shows the tracking performance of target is better, and the computing burden is reduced.
