Polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLC) is a new electro-optical composite materials. Forexample, it can be used in the display, electro-optical windows, liquid crystal light valve phasegrating holographic recording film and a variety of electronic equipment, and so on. It is not onlysimple for preparation, high contrast but also does not require polarizer. Therefore, it is a hotresearch topic of current LCD technology and optical communication fields.In this paper, we combined conventional PDLC film and fluorescent material and designed anew type of PDLC devices with our experimental conditions based on polymer dispersed liquidcrystal (PDLC) device research. Meanwhile, we also study further on the theoretical scatteringcharacteristics of the transmitted light of PDLC device.The specific contents are as follows:(1) We combined conventional PDLC film and fluorescent material and designed a new typeof PDLC devices. Not only we solidified the fluorescent materials by the sol-gel method andpreparation of fluorescent film but also developed a fluorescent switch with a fluorescent effectbased on the optical and electrical properties of PDLC. This fluorescence switch can be realizedQuantitative modulation the intensity of fluorescence. Therefore, the fluorescence switch inresponse to optical devices, sensors, optoelectronic devices, optoelectronics filed has importantresearch value and a good prospect.(2) We prepared PDLC by separation polymer. And then according to the unique structureof PDLC, to use possion probability distribution combined with the scattering theory model of asingle droplet, we analysis the theory of the scattering properties of transmitted light when theelectric field is applied.We carried out an extensive and in-depth study from the perspectives of the implementationof function, technology integration, interdisciplinary, respectively.
