CPM (Continuous Phase Modulation) is a bandwidth and Power efficientsignaling seheme suitable for wireless and mobile communications. Due to Phasecontinuity and constant modulus, CPM schemes have been widely used in our daily life.Synehronization technique that ensures the coordinate working of transmitter andreeeiver is very important for CPM systems.The performance of synchronizationalgorithm determines the quality of communication.Research on the design of synchronization algorithm, the realization of simulationsystem, and the testing and comparison in the demodulation of the CPM system hasbeen accomplished in the thesis.The basic task on CPM has been expatiated asfollows::Firstly, analyzing the features of the modulated singnal and comparing theseveral typical bit-synchronization algorithm, and then, established and realized thesystem frame of the evaluated algorithms about bit synchronization.Secondly,theflowchart for simulation has been designed. The simulation programs of the algorithmhave been realized with MATLAB. All simulation programs can simulate the process.So the research work has made progress essentially.And then, accomplished out thecurve of mean square error by changing the parameter modulation index and correlationlength. Then based on the comparision upon,we found out the optimal algorithm andaccomplished it on FPGA.
