With the development of digital signal processing technology and array signalprocessing technology, microphone array technology has been widely used in acousticsource localization, especially in indoor environment such as conference room, lecturehall, multimedia classroom, large stage. But now some problems such as the exact rateis not high in the high-noisy and reverberant environment, high cost, large calculationexist in the most of positioning technology based on microphone array. To solve theseproblems, and according to the intelligent monitoring system requirements, this paperresearches the acoustic source localization based on microphone array, focuses on thetime delay estimation. The work of the article includes mainly:①By analyzing the traditional measuring methods of acoustic source localizationusing microphone array, this article finally chooses a sound source localization methodbased on the time delay estimation.②This article establishes the ideal environment and the reverberant environmentmicrophone array signal models. Sound source signal which received by microphonesadopts band-pass filter. wavelet de-noising, and speech endpoint detection to undertakepretreatment, for meeting time delay estimation algorithm.③On the basis of time delay estimation analysis, this article introduces severaltraditional time delay estimation algorithms. To solve the defects of them, an improvedAED algorithm based on LMS-Newton algorithm is proposed, and this article comparesthe improved algorithm with traditional algorithms.④On the basis of source localization analysis, this article proposes a localizationmodel of3D-position by three microphones, then compares it with traditional methods.⑤A set of acoustic source localization system that can be applied in practice isdeveloped. This article describes every part of system, tests its capability, and resultsindicate the system can position the sound source azimuth. Then this article analyses thepossible reasons that inflict error, and previews probable improvements of system.
