Driving axle shell need to do some correlate geometrical measurement before theyleave the factory, The traditional length and Angle measurement method is manual tofinish, So there is easy to cause the time-consuming human error, The visual inspectionmethod has the advantage of non-contact, high speed, high precision and can becontrolled, etc, thereby improved the company productivity, reduced human resources, ensure product quality and increases the detecting precision. For this reason, proposes the research of driving axle shell length and spring baseinclination system. This paper takes Micro driving axle shell as researchsubject, researches some keys technologies in Visual inspection of driving axle shelllength and spring base inclination.First, according to the characteristics of the shell itself and accuracy requirement ofstatic detection, Completed the machine vision inspection system solution design andthe workbench related design; determined the Cameras and lenses that used in isioninspection system through calculation, Completed the hardware component selectionand software design. And then, summarized the common method of camera calibration, based on the directional target camera calibration method presented by Zheng-youZhang, improved the calibration method, used the improved method calibrated thecamera; when improve the method, Considering the influence of the tangentialdistortion, comprehensively considered the tangential and radial distortions, improvedthe precision of camera calibration. Last, according to the characteristic of imageacquisition, the image denoising, binarization processing, algorithm of edge detectionwere performed, finally realized the detection of driving axle shell length and springbase inclination.
