Traffic environment is deteriorating with the popularity of cars in recent years.Many countries take a lot of manpower and material to do research in intelligenttransportation systems. Intelligent vehicles which playing a important role in theentire intelligent transportation systems can cut edge of research in the field of vehicleengineering. With autopilot technology, intelligent vehicles are used widely in roadmanagement, transportation and other fields in many countries.This paper is based on the context of the “Freescale Cup National Intelliget carcontest” which detailed describes the design and implementation of the intelligentautomobile control system based on MCU use electromagnetic sensors tracingintelligent car. The system mainly consists of the power module, DC motor drivespeed control module, the steering gear steering control module, the runway andsignal detection module, the speed detection module, the liquid crystal (LCD)display module and the wireless communication module. The controller of theintelligent car is Freescale Semiconductor production MC9S12XS128. The intelligentcar control system has a16microcontroller as control core, with codewarrior5.0software as a development platform, and from both software and hardware.Thehardware consists of main power circuit, the DC motor driver module circuit,runway signal detection module circuit, the speed detection module circuit, liquidcrystal (LCD) display module circuit steering servos module circuit and the wirelesscommunication module circuit. The software consists of the main motor control unitand the servo control subroutine, the speed detection subroutine, liquid crystal(LCD) display routines and wireless communications subroutine. The controlalgorithm is: Closed-loop algorithm used as the motor control system, fuzzy PIDalgorithm used to adjust the speed of the intelligent car; servo control module usesthe classic PID control algorithm. These algorithms are widely used in industrialcontrol, and have achieved good control performance. In addition, in order toimprove the efficiency of the development of the whole system, as well as morein-depth research on intelligent automobile Control System, we adopted LabVIEWas the development platform in experimental simulation.Experimental results show that the designed control system has features of simple and efficient, strong adaptability and real-time. The intelligent car based onthe control system, is able to correctly and quickly track identification and tracking.
