Teachers are the core elements of the university. The Ability of teaching, scientificresearch and social service determines the education quality of university and even the qualityof whole higher education. Along with the development of the information society andeducational reform, the popularization of internet and the rapid development of educationinformatization require further improvement of the university teachers in training mode andmeans. Therefore, the exploration and research of faculty development platform under thenetwork environment has important theoretical and practical significances in promotingteachers’ professional development and enhancing their professional level.Through the investigations on the current situation and the characteristics of facultydevelopment, the solution,which makes use of the information technology assistance inteacher training, is put forward in this thesis. The Faculty Development Platform Based onCloud Computing (FDPCC for short) is designed and developed. The architecture modelbased on the needs of faculty development work is designed on the basis of the cloudcomputing on concepts, characteristic, development status, service model, deployment model,security mechanism, and the impacts of cloud computing on higher education informatizationin this thesis. The architecture model on demand analysis, functional architecture, servicemode and security mechanism are also studied and designed. Finally, through theprogramming development, the prototype system, which is depending on the facultydevelopment platform based on the cloud computing, is achieved. The faculty developmentplatform based on cloud computing is improved.
