Currently, photonic crystal fiber is a focus in optoelectronics field. Chirped fibergrating based on photonic crystal fiber has many advantages and cause great interest ofresearchers. In this paper the optical characteristics of photonic crystal fiber chirpedgrating is theoretical analyzed. The reflection spectrum, delay time and apodizationcharacteristics of photonic crystal fiber chirped grating are studied separately. At thesame time, the dispersion compensation characteristics of chirped fiber grating areexperimental studied. The main contents of the dissertation include the followings.First of all, the development history, structural characteristics and applications ofphotonic crystal fiber and chirped fiber grating are discussed in detail. The theoreticalanalysis method of photonic crystal fiber and chirped fiber grating are obtained.Secondly, the reflection spectrum characteristics of photonic crystal fiber chirpedgrating are studied. The characteristics of photonic crystal fiber chirped grating areanalyzed by finite element method and transmission matrix method, and the correctnessof the theoretical method is demonstrated. The influences of fiber grating parameters onphotonic crystal fiber chirped grating are studied, and the relationship rules between themare got. Meanwhile, the influences of the grapefruit-type structure fiber and thehexagonal-type structure fiber parameters on the photonic crystal fiber chirped gratingare studied, and the relationship rules between them are also obtained.Thirdly, the delay time and apodization characteristics of photonic crystal fiberchirped grating are studied. The influences of chirped fiber grating parameters and fiberstructural parameters on the delay time of photonic crystal fiber chirped grating areanalysed. The optimal apodization parameters on the apodization functions of photoniccrystal fiber chirped grating are theoretical verified. And the effects of the apodizationfunction are compared. For several peaks connected fiber grating is also apodized. Tomake reflection spectrum fluctuation decreases.Finally, the dispersion compensation characteristics of chirped fiber grating areexperimental studied. The dispersion compensation principle and measurement methods of chirped fiber grating are introduced. The dispersion compensation performance ofexperimental carved chirped fiber grating is measured. Also, the photonic crystal fiberchirped grating used as dispersion compensation is studied. To discuss and prove thepossibility and application prospects with a chirped fiber grating compensate for thedispersion of multiple channels.
