This paper is centering on Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology, and is focusing on researches of RoF frequency up-conversion without local oscillator based on optical injection into FP-LD, and is alse focusing on researches of RoF signal frequency multiplication based on optical time-domain compression & polarization delay interferometer.1. Introduce the development status and application prospects of microwave photonics, exisiting optical & wireless acess network and RoF technology. Explane the basic principles and output modes of FP-LD. Then give out expressed equations and physical meanings of FP-LD’s main performance parameters, and describe FP-LD’s four basic characteristics.2. Propose a technology of RoF frequency up-conversion without local oscillator based on optical injection into FP-LD. Using this technology which is based on Non-linear Dynamics System, can do RoF frequency up-conversion for NRZ-OOK, RZ-OOK signal light without local oscillator. By doing theoretical analysis for Non-linear Dynamics System, show the basic principles of using this effect to achieve RoF frequency up-conversion without local oscillator. Then it is proved by experiments that NRZ-OOK and RZ-OOK injected signal light can be frequency up-conversed into subcarrier intensity modulated signal.3. Utilising positive chirp characteristics of subcarrier intensity modulated signal which is generated by NRZ-OOK injected signal light, use negative dispersion media compensating positive chirp to achieve subcarrier signal compression in time domain, obtain the pulse form of subcarrier signal, then use polarization delay interferometer to achieve subcarrier frequency multiplication, so resulte in a subcarrier signal in millimeter wave band.
