With the background of the fusing of communication network, computer network and cable network, broadcast television has gradually progressed into HDTV(High Definition Television), the internet develops at full speed, the mobile terminals get more and more diverse and applications focusing on video are increasing in an explosive type. Since the efficient compression performance and favorable network affinity of H.264/AVC, it is widely used in broadcast television and mobile internet.Since there are diverse kinds of video display terminals with different forms and functions while there are differences in the grades of video used for decoding, video transcoding technology has become one of the core technologies in video applications, among which there are several requirements of applications based on digital copyright, commercial advertisement, emergency notification, logo and subtitle insertion of video.Focusing on the application of inserting logo to H.264/AVC stream, a transcode scheme of H.264/AVC logo insertion based on reusing of encoding parameters has been achieved in this paper. The advantages and disadvantages of the recently most used H.264/AVC encoder have been compared in this paper. The x264 which has better performance in general computer platform is chosen as encoding solution of the transcoder. The complexity of each model has been calculated and greatly decreased by reusing the encode parameters to save the calculated amount of mode determination and motion estimation. The Re-Loss-Free video coding has been proposed in this paper. The deblocking filter has been shut down during the encoding and the decoded but unfiltered image is used as the input of encoder in order to reduce the information loss in the process of transcoding. After logo inserting, the logo zone and non-logo zone are respectively processed by different algorithm according to the difference influence caused by the logo. MBAFF(Macroblock Adaptive Field Frame) is proposed in this paper. The necessity of using MBAFF has been introduced in this paper and then field encoding used in H.264/AVC, MBAFF algorithm and implementation in x264. In the end, parameters like calculation amount of transcoding algorithm, PSNR quality of transcoded image and code rate of bit stream have been assessed. The experiment result demonstrates that the transcoding algorithm can achieve logo insertion in H.264/AVC bit stream in high quality and efficiency.At last, overall design of H.264/AVC logo insertion transcoding system and function of each model are introduced in this paper. Nucleus models like frontend interface, network transform, logo resource generation and management are introduced in detail.In conclusion, this paper studies the logo insertion transcoding algorithm based on H.264/AVC standard, achieves a transcoding scheme of H.264/AVC icon insertion and optimizes calculation complexity and encoding performance, which highly valued in practice application.
