With the rapid development of the aeronautical industry, the requirements of the stability andreliability of aeronautical communications systems are more and more strict. The performance ofaeronautical communications system mostly depends on channel conditions. However, aeronauticalcommunication channel is a time-varying fading channel and it is influenced by the Doppler spreadand multipath fading. Especially under high speed conditions, the channel multipath delay in thequestions becomes more prominent, accordingly, multipath delay corresponding to the number ofsymbols are getting more and more serious, which makes the complexity of equalization rise sharply.Therefore, the study of the aeronautical communication of the channel is of great significance. In thedesign of the aeronautical communications system, the key problem is how to conquer the question ofmultipath spreading and time-varying channel characteristics. This paper focuses on the research ofthe estimation and equalization in high rate broadband single carrier aeronautical communicationssystems.In view of the broadband single carrier aeronautical communications system, this paper focuseson the research of the technologies of channel estimation and equalization in these frequency selectivefading channels, The study which has important theoretical significance and application value.The main work and innovations are as follows:1. we study the shortwave and aeronautical communication channels deeply and analyze themodels of multipath fading channel. Then we study the fading properties of aeronautical channel.Modeling and simulations of the delay power spectrum of aeronautical communication channels arecarried out with great emphasis.2. A new channel estimation method using the properties of self-correlated of m-sequence isproposed. It has good performance, and is very effective in large time delay channel, It also has lowcomplexity, and is easy for accomplishing in FPGA.3. After comparing and analyzing traditional equalization technologies, a time domainequalization algorithm is proposed for broadband single carrier aeronautical communications systems.The results of simulations and testing clearly show that this algorithm can effectively inter symbolinterference and improve the performance of bit-error-rate.This paper, which is about channel estimation and equalization technology, provides necessaryfoundations for single carrier aeronautical communications systems design. It also has the certainreference value for other single carrier communications systems.
