The assumption of traditional radar processing theroy is not suitable for wide-band radarwith improved band of radar. So the wide-band radar has many new theory and technologyproblems and the traditional radar detection strategy can’t provide best performance in wide-bandradar any longer, and the deeply research of the signal detection and data processing algorithmon wide-band radar is quitely needed. To solve such problems, we do the main research work asfollows:1. Target characteristics of wide-band radar are studied. Single-pulse and multi-pulse targetecho are analyzed respectively. Amplitude statistic models of wide-band terget echo areprobed,and the wide-band radar equation of detection performance on wide-band radar comparedto narrow-band radar are researched.2. The best detection structure of wide-band radar is proposed. Many traditional detectionalgorithms such as M/N double level detection, radial amplitude-squared accumulated detectionof wide-band radar are studied.3. A new detection algorithm for wide-band radar target based on position informationassociated is proposed. This algorithm is a nonparametric detection method, which based on theradial range correlation information of one-dimensional range images of high resolution radartargets. Finally, experimental results for measured illustrate that the proposed algorithm not onlyneeds less computation,but also is able to detect multiple range-spread targets along distance"corridor".4. By treating time domain separated echoes, caused by the scatters on the target, as a pulsetrain with random parameters, a new detection method is proposed for high-range-resolutionradar target single detection based on the theory of optimum matching detection and thecharacteristic of target’s echoes in a high-range-resolution radar. Finally, the experimental resultsshow that the new method has evident improvement in detection performance compared with thetraditional detection method.5. The one-dimensional range images simulation system of wide-band radar terget is establ-ished.The application problems of wide-band radar target signal detection in the wide-band radardata processing are studied.According to the simulation experimental results, Some correlationconclusion are showed at last.
