Currently, electromagnetic environment has become the 4th dimension space together with space, land and ocean due to the development of wireless communication technology. In the modern war, grabbing the"highland"relies on the advanced electron equipments and the mastery of the electromagnetism. Otherwise, the mastery of the sky and the thalassocracy, even the predominance of the war will be lost soon. This work is proposed and conducted based on the background presented above.To modernize the equipments of our army, a design scheme of wide-band signal source based on low-speed processing has been proposed in the thesis. The signal source can supply wide-band, multi-mode, high-density electromagnetic environments, which will be used to model the real electromagnetic environments in the modern wars. Therefore, this signal source can provide reliable technical results for undecided equipments and army training. Moreover, the signal source can be used to generate ultra-wide band linear FM signals and wide-band frequency-hop signals.To reduce the processing rate and the corresponding requirements of system design, an FPGA & DDS scheme to generate a single sub-band signal is designed. Combining these single sub-band signals, the desired low-speed wide-band signal can be obtained. This work includes the implementation design and the hardware design. In the implementation design, we present the design idea and the system structure; In the hardware design, we first choose suitable chips according to the sub-system functions and make the PCB. Then we introduce the work principle of each chip and the generation of each control signal following the signal flow. Based on the generation of ultra-wide band linear FM signals, the re-form of wide-band signals, the generation of wide-band frequency-hop signals and these corresponding test results, the design scheme is verified to be reasonable and effectual.
