The studies of resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) focuson optimizing some project objective while meeting certain precedence and resourceconstraints. In recent years, with the rapid increase in the complexity of projectmanagement, most traditional models for solving resource constrained projectscheduling problems (RCPSP) can’t handle real-world project scheduling well, thusexperts and scholars have developed several multi-agent based RCPSP models. In this paper, for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem, we dosome innovative research using multi-agent theory, with the minimization of projectmakespan as project objective. We design and simulate an agent-basedresource-constrained project scheduling system which contains job agents, resourceagents, mode selection agents, six kinds of work priority rules and three kinds ofmode priority rules. Then we analyze the simulation results, and improve the currentsystem according to simulation results. Meanwhile, in order to avoid excessiveconsumption of non-renewable resources, this paper design a protection strategy toprevent the depletion of non-renewable resources.Last we implement the resource-constrained project scheduling system with theJava language. First, according to the modalities for the implementation of the work, divided into single-mode project scheduling and multi-mode project scheduling, andthen for each scheduling method, we compares different results when the totalduration of the project at the network complexity, resource factor, resource intensity, priority rules and mode priority rule performance, and use results to improve projectscheduling system. Above experiments proved the effectiveness and practicality of themulti-agent based dual resource-constrained project scheduling system.
