It determines aircraft’s main performance that the weight of the structure and thelevel of design of the aircraft. Therefore, the goal of the design of the aircraft’s structureis light weight, low price and excellent performance. Optimization design of structurecan not only reduce the structural weight and the cost of material, but also improve thestrength, stiffness, vibration, buckling stability and other properties of the structure, andit is an important research direction in the field of calculation of mechanics and designand manufacture of modern machinery.On the basis of previous studies, the research work of this paper as follows:Firstly, it is described that research and development direction, difficulties andexisting problems of genetic algorithm and topological optimization.It is introduced that not only the operation process and basic principle of thestandard (basic) genetic algorithm, but also the based terminology and the implicitparallelism and convergence of genetic algorithm.It is pointed out that the problems of the basic genetic algorithm in engineering’sapplication firstly then we sum up the current situation of the development of improvedgenetic algorithm, and finally propose the improved genetic algorithm program. Wepropose the following improve measures about the basic genetic algorithm that aimingat the particularity of the solving problems of topology optimization of truss structure,and divide the genetic operation process of genetic algorithm into two stages, and setthe crossover probability and mutation probability adaptively in the iteration for eachgeneration of the population, at the same time take optimal retention and constituteoptimally the crossover、mutation in different stages in order to improve the accuracy ofcalculation and speed of convergence.It is introduced that genetic algorithm in the application of topology optimizationproblems of truss structure with continuous variables by introducing penalty function.We get the data table and the evolutional fig by comparing application of basic geneticalgorithm and improved genetic algorithm to topology optimization problems of trussstructure, and it is validated of the improved genetic algorithm is feasible and effective.Research shows that the improved genetic algorithm has advantage in solving somedifficult problems of the optimization of truss structures, and the improvement of thebasic genetic algorithm in this article is feasible and effective improvementmeasures Key words: genetic algorithm; structure optimization; structure of truss;topology optimization; penalty function.
